After high school, I attended Iowa State University. From there, I received on-the-job training as a Dental Assistant as well as Expanded Functions training.
I often go by my nickname KareBear, so feel free to call me that. At The Family Dental Center, I am a Hygiene Assistant where I assist the hygienists and help with other clinical activities.
After attending Hawkeye Community College in the Dental Hygiene program, I went to the University of Saint Francis in Joliet, IL to receive my BS as a Dental Hygienist.
As a Dental Assistant at The Family Dental Center in the Ortho department, I enjoy getting to know our patients throughout their orthodontic treatment.
Working in a dental office is always changing and keeping up with providing services like our Same Day Dentistry (CEREC) are so important. I am CEREC Certified and a Dental Assistant with my RDA and EFDA for The Family Dental Center.

For the last 27 years I have been a Dental Hygienist after graduating from the University of Iowa. I enjoy getting to know our patients and their families.
I am recently new to Iowa. I was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri where I started Dental Assisting. I love helping people feel happy and confident about their smiles.
